Whether you call it intuition, a sixth sense or psychic abilities - many of us experience some sort of uncanny phenomenon every now and then that allows us to understand something we shouldn't yet know. It's not that we can see the future at will or have fantastical magical powers, it's more a finely tuned sense that helps us to gather information about a person or situation, and even to predict events.
Sofeminine.co.uk talked to London psychic Amber Garnet, who shared some tips on how to recognise and develop your psychic abilities.
She believes that everyone has some psychic potential; it's just a matter of getting in touch with your abilities and working with your gifts. "It is not necessary to have a lineage of psychic ability in the family," she says. "Psychic ability is something everyone is born with to some degree, but people often lose this ability due to their environment or conditioning."

The New York Times recently ran an article called 'Meet the Power Psychics' about how successful New Yorkers are turning to card readers and clairvoyants for advice on career, love and money.
Psychic News was published as a weekly newspaper from 1932 until July 2010. It has now been relaunched and is published as a fortnightly online magazine. It features news, views and features on Spiritualism, healing, mediumship, spirituality, reincarnation, mind body spirit subjects, and much more…
Thanks to a rare genetic mutation, a handful of people have no fingerprints. That's not the implausible premise of a crime story but a real condition, and it's more notable for causing confusion at border control than for baffling detectives. Now, geneticists have identified a mutation that may cause it. It is unlikely to save the fingerprintless any time in airports, but it could ultimately lead to treatments for other, more common conditions.
ITV's This Morning recently ran a feature on whether psychics were con artists. The interview was topical as a well-known TV medium, Sally Morgan, had recently been accused of fraud at a Dublin Theatre by a radio phone-in caller identifying herself as "Susan". I'm not particularly familiar with Sally's work and have never seen her television show, yet I feel sympathy for her.

This question was debated in a rather lopsided manner on ITV1's This Morning on Tuesday 27th September 2011. The articulate sceptic and seasoned TV professional Paul Zenon presented his case first and assertively challenged psychic medium and girl-from-Cardiff Leigh Catherine to 'prove' her abilities and the legitimacy of psychic phenomena, which in in this case was deamed to be 'communicating with the deceased.'
According to today's Daily Mail newspaper: "...scientists have noticed an extraordinary link between the ratio of two digits on the hand — the ring and index fingers, known in scientists’ jargon as 2D and 4D — and a whole host of seemingly unrelated traits.
"Evidence is growing that this ‘digit ratio’, especially when applied to the right hand, is a fundamental indicator of sexuality, aggression and diseases suffered by men"
Just as men visit the gym to take care of their bodies, many are now following the lead of Brad Pitt and turning to psychics for guidance on life's deeper issues.
Whereas 10 years ago it tended to be women who sought psychic information, I'm surprised how many young professional males are now using psychic services. In the past only women would admit to visiting a psychic yet many male clients seek readings for reasons including business, relationships, career advice, family issues, major life changes - or simple curiosity. Like the female clients, they come from all walks of life, ages and nationalities.

As found on both Britney Spears and Tony Blair, the Simian Line (where the head and heart line are one) merges mental and emotional energy. Owners have an intense focus (often to the detriment of other areas of their life) and can find it difficult to switch off. People who possess one or two Simian Lines' have the potential to go far because of their drive and intensity, yet can be controlling. Their charisma and potential for greatness is tempered by tunnel vision, evangelical zeal and an inability to find peace in relationships. A mixed blessing.

Many people have 'the gift' of extreme sensitivity to the world around them. This is commonly shown as little fine lines all over the palm of the hand. I do believe sensitivity to be a gift, but it is one that needs to be managed - especially when a HSP lives and works in a city as frenetic as London. I have adapted some of the ideas presented by esteemed psychic Judy Hall (see below) and added my own combinations to make 5 tips for protecting your energy throughout the day.
The word 'spirituality' seems so nebulous and subjective. Though I've categorised my blog posts under 'Spirituality' because that's what I assume people will search under, I know no definitive meaning of spirituality. The book 'Getting the Love You Want' recently explains how humans subconsciously chose life partners who mirror the bahaviours of our parents so that we can repair the damaged parts of our selves. Dr Harville Hendrix, the author of this classic, tries to define spirituality thus:
